As things often happen, upon reviewing the site to add new images to and to expand the photo gallery, the entire site was given a makeover.
A basic PHP image rotator script is used to deliver random photos incorporated into the page header.
New "you are here" locators were added to the links to indicate which page the user is on.
A shadow detail was added around the content to give it more depth, and an interesting denim pattern background was done in green for the body of the page.
The addition of updated photographs and great close ups provided for great new content on the gallery pages.
Rather than using pop up windows for the larger images, a scrolling thumbnail selector was created and the larger image was brought right into the page.
The Schedule page was also laid out with easier distinction between the months, as well as the addition of a quick jump link at the top to specific months.
New improvements were also made, including a mouse-over highlighting effect as the user mouses over individual rows.
Also, several pages were enabled with a smooth scrolling function for on-page links. Often, when a user clicks a link on a large page that leads them further up or down the page, they have no real indication as to where they are or have gone. The smooth scroller actually scrolls the window up or down, providing an indication to the user that they are still on the same page, and the direction they have traveled.
Home page sets the stage by laying out the look that is followed throughout the site.
Universal top text navigation, contact link on lower left.
Additional key features on the main page: weekly match update and a link for a maps to the field.
Photo Gallery pages with popup enlargements of selected photos. Improved the quality of the images while drastically cutting page load times.
